Online Video Sharing Platform Will Host Concerts, Creator Events and More
YouTube has announced it has successfully won a naming-rights deal, where it will have 10-year naming rights to a theatre designed to host gigs, stand-up comedy, community events, esports competitions, conferences, and creator events.
YouTube described it as a “three-story venue that combines state-of-the art technology with luxury guest amenities and features five-star acoustics.”
This “YouTube Theatre” – officially opening in summer – is said to have around 6,000 seats and will be located at the Hollywood Park sports and entertainment complex in Inglewood, California. YouTube has released several images of what it could look like:

The social media giant has booked up multiple acts to perform this year and in 2022, including artists such as Pitbull, Iggy Azalea, Louis Tomlinson.
As stated by Angela Courtin, YouTube’s VP of brand marketing:
“YouTube Theatre will drive the uniqueness of YouTube by combining physical, ‘in real life’ events that bring creators and fans together,”
Courtin continued that they would be able to share the events, concerts and conferences with “our 2 billion global monthly users through livestreams and VOD content.”
An exciting aspect of the theatre is the large-scale digital YouTube button icon, which will be located outside the building.
Guests will be able to interact with the button and transform it into a video screen, on which they can see themselves and view highlights of YouTube’s creator and artist content.
What’s more, the theatre will have a dynamic digital wall within the interior, which will again feature YouTube creators and artists’ content, as well as interactive displays throughout the building.
The theatre has already got its website, which shows that preparations are well underway for the grand and highly anticipated opening this summer.
