TikTok’s Average Monthly Time Spent Per User Soars
App Annie’s ‘State of Mobile 2021′ report has revealed that users’ average time spent on TikTok skyrocketed in the last year. TikTok’s average monthly time spent per user grew by 70% in the US and 80% in the UK, meaning the hot-shot video-streaming app surpassed Facebook.

In 2019, Facebook was the most used app in both the US and the UK. Whilst the average time spent on Facebook did increase in 2020, this more dated platform could not compete with TikTok’s uncontrollable and rapid rise in popularity.
Experts predict that TikTok’s popularity will continue to escalate in 2021, when the platform is set to hit more than one billion users. Currently, according to Hootsuite and We Are Social, there are 800 million TikTok users around the world, making it the sixth most used app in the world.

As Gen Z users continue to gravitate towards TikTok’s vertically scrollable chain of innovative, clearly bewitching videos, the app retains its power. Keep an eye on TikTok’s growth this year, as it could likely nab a higher spot in this list of the world’s most-used platforms.
