Trump Backs Oracle As Potential TikTok Buyer

Oracle Emerges as Another Potential Buyer for TikTok

Oracle has now also expressed its interest, challenging Microsoft. While the race for Tik Tok has only just begun, it promises to be an exciting one.

As reported by CNBC:

“Oracle’s talks to acquire TikTok’s operations in four countries are ongoing and have accelerated in recent days, the person said, and it and Microsoft are far ahead of any other companies that have expressed interest.”

This comes after the Trump administration gave ByteDance an ultimatum to sell its popular app to a non-Chinese company, noting that it posed a threat to the country’s national security.

Trump has already given Oracle his stamp of approval; “Well, I think Oracle is a great company and I think its owner is a tremendous guy. He’s a tremendous person… I think Oracle would certainly be someone who could handle this.”

At this point in time, it is still very difficult to predict which company will eventually take ownership of the short-form video app, or whether this will need to happen at all – If Biden is to become President, TikTok could be looking at different negotiations.

However, as of right now, the clock is definitely ticking.
