Facebook Will Reject Political Ads That Spread Misinformation About The Outcome Of US Election
Following Tuesday’s first presidential debate, Facebook has further clarified its new rules around election-related ads. The social platform has stated that it won’t accept ads that ‘delegitimise’ election results.
Facebook Director of Product Management Rob Leathern, who leads the company’s business integrity team, announced the changes on Twitter.
Unfortunately, this is a genuine/ real concern. Due to mail-in voting, the electoral process is expected to take longer than in previous years, and with more Democrats expected to vote by mail, many are concerned that Trump will declare an early victory.
