WhatsApp Rumoured To Be Introducing Emoji Reactions To Its Messenger App
WABetainfo – WhatsApp news for iOS, Android and Windows – has revealed that WhatsApp is developing emoji “reactions” for its messenger app.
This feature, now integral to Facebook Messenger, provides an easy way to acknowledge messages – a quick tap, in place of formulating a written response. What’s more, 93% of communication is non-verbal; these little emojis have the magic touch when it comes to efficiently conveying facial expressions and emotions, often difficult to translate into words.
Currently, this feature is in the development phase and not yet unavailable to public beta testers, however, more specific details of what’s to come are outlined in WABetaInfo’s Tweet below:
More details:
• You can react to a message multiple times with different emojis.
• The process to send a reaction is end-to-end encrypted, so nobody outside the chat can see your reactions.
• You can react to messages in individual chats as well. https://t.co/mJwPL44xvK— WABetaInfo (@WABetaInfo) September 4, 2021
WABetaInfo says this feature is being tested for iOS and Android devices – stay tuned, as these emoji reactions could pop up in your chats at any time.
